Everything You NEED To Know About Ramadan in Dubai

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. During this holy month, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, and smoking from sunrise to sunset.

Who Participates in Fasting?

While fasting is obligatory for most Muslims, there are exceptions. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with health concerns are exempt from fasting. Non-Muslims are not required to fast but should be respectful and considerate during Ramadan.

Daytime Activities during Ramadan

During Ramadan, Dubai adopts a slower pace, with many businesses and establishments adjusting their hours of operation. While some restaurants remain open, others may have shortened hours or offer modified menus. Shopping malls may also extend their operating hours, staying open until late into the night.
